WRAPPED OURSELVES UP

Dear Spike:

The summer's first thunderstorm came this morning. You and I curled up together in the big, comfy papasan chair, wrapped ourselves up in the soft feather comforter, and watched "The Empire Strikes Back" on your mother's nifty new computer.

Soon you were asleep. And not long after that, I was too.

I can't remember a better morning. Ever.

Love,
dad

Those are always my favorite mornings. I love your blog and the essay that you wrote in Things That I Learned About My Dad. Spike is very lucky to have you as a dad.

I found your blog while browsing through some others that I read on a pretty consistent basis and...as they say with books..."I couldn't put it down." I'm so excited that you wrote a book and wish you the best of luck in getting it published. I'm sure it's amazing!

I am...as they say...an aspiring author but would never have the guts to even attempt to get something published (I write for my family and that is all). I am glad that you are far braver than I…your writing is positively beautiful.

Oh...and...by the way, Spike is absolutely adorable.
