Dear Spike:
In your case, at this moment, no news is good news. And since your mom didn’t have any problems today, we’re feeling slightly more upbeat than we were yesterday.
Another day of normal, average, ordinary, standard, run-of-the-mill, plain Jane, routine pregnancy would do your mother and I both a lot of good.
See what you can do in there, OK?
Love,
dad

Not trying to sound gross but was there any intercourse before the bleeding? (Of course you need not answer that) It may be a ruptured blood vessel on the cervix. At least I'm hoping for the three of you that this is what it is. Speaking from experience here is all.. good luck and big Hugs
Oh dear. Welcome to the worry world of parenthood. I'll echo the doctor's sentiments that bleeding in early pregnancy is fairly common, but nonetheless, can scare the shit out of you.
If you get into reading "What To Expect When You're Expecting" or any other such pregnancy guide, they'll tell you that a woman's blood volume increases by 50 percent during gestation (trust me on this one...I pricked my finger the other day and bled like a stuck pig), so this should be noted too.
ALSO, the cervix is quite "friable" during pregnancy (that's "irritated" in layman's terms), so a little blood here and there is par for the course.
Naturally, keep us posted, and I'll be sending prayers and warm thoughts your way (and Spike's, too). After all, everything must be okay for my son's future wife/husband. : )
A Note to say I hope you are all well!
Glad to hear that! How scary for both of you. Thanks for keeping us posted.

Wow, my first sort of rude comment. We're a success!
Thanks, everyone else, for the words of encouragment. Sorry I haven't written Spike more regularly, lately. Should be better soon.
Meanwhile, thanks again for all of your kinds words and prayers. All three of us appreciate it.
